alcohol culture is so wild…people all over fb will be sharing a meme like “i can’t have just one glass of wine, it’s always 2 bottles and 3 people i can never look in the eye again” as if that’s normal? but if a meme like that was going around about cocaine or any other drug, everyone would be like “sounds like a drug problem bruh”
alcoholism is SO normalized and it’s such a toxic environment honestly
It’s crazy !!!
yeah i think a huge issue w alcohol culture is not peer pressure, but peer normalization.
like people just dont realize that binge drinking, or even just having alcohol frequently can constitute as having an alcohol problem bc its viewed as being fun or just part of also party culture when in reality its really not and is super damaging to your body, your relationships, and is a super poor coping mechanism

There is just an ignorant obsession with finding coded ways of vilifying food stamp recipients by any means necessary.
This article is so inflammatory its journalistically negligent:
Like first of all they found the most superfluous header image possible for this article.
But what’s most annoying is, buried in this article is a paragraph that practically deems the entire piece irrelevant:
both SNAP and non-SNAP households bought ample amounts of sweetened drinks, candy, ice cream and potato chips. Among non-SNAP households, for example, soft drinks ranked second on the list of food purchases, behind milk.
So there isn’t anything astoundingly unique about soft drink/junk food consumption between SNAP users and NON-SNAP users, yet articles like this get written because, apparently, when someone receives government aid they have to be perfect and pious.
Food stamp recipients and poor folk altogether are largely invisible in our society until one of those few times a year when the country has everyone gather around to cast judgement.
Fuck natural beauty.
People like to talk like any sort of modification for the sake of beauty is “unfair,” but honestly, how is winning the genetic lottery any more fair? When I choose to modify my body in a certain way, it’s a huge insult to tell me my choice isn’t what you like, just as much as demanding I alter it a specific way.
These are just 4 examples of so so so many backhanded “compliments” and criticisms I’ve received since I was a teenager. Some are paraphrased because multiple people have expressed similar sentiments, while others are exact quotes. I actually made a comic about the guy from panel 2 before. Also, I drew all the examples as men since it’s mostly men who tell me these things, but I’ve definitely gotten some hate from radfems over wearing makeup.
I’ve done other comics about my various body mods , and comments about my weight , and of course there’s my larger response to people saying I don’t need makeup. Sheesh, so many body police these days!
